A thoughtfully reimagined hospitality destination for Joseph Holt Brewery and Almond Family Pubs, inspired by the golden age of travel, where rich, atmospheric interiors and refined detailing create a sense of understated luxury.
The Station House in Cheadle Hulme has been thoughtfully reimagined, transforming this iconic building into a refined, design-led destination inspired by the romance and glamour of the golden age of travel. The interiors are rich in character and atmosphere, where layered lighting, tactile materials, and plush upholstered seating come together to create a sense of understated luxury. Carefully considered finishes and detailing throughout reinforce a timeless elegance, while maintaining a warm, welcoming sensibility.
The design approach balances heritage reference with contemporary refinement, allowing the architecture and interiors to feel both rooted and renewed. A cohesive palette runs throughout, unifying the spaces while subtle shifts in tone and texture define each area’s individual identity.
The venue is organised across three distinct yet complementary spaces, each crafted to support a different mode of experience. The cosy snug and stylish bar form a relaxed, sociable heart to the building, where intimate seating arrangements and ambient lighting create a comfortable setting for informal gatherings and evening trade. In contrast, the bistro and dining area introduces a more composed and elevated atmosphere, with a refined material language and considered spatial planning that enhances the sense of occasion and supports a calm, immersive dining experience.
The journey concludes in the light-filled garden room, a serene and restorative space that softens the overall interior palette. Here, natural light plays a central role, enhancing the connection between inside and out, while gentle textures and a more relaxed aesthetic introduce a quieter moment within the scheme.
Together, these spaces create a layered and cohesive environment that encourages movement and discovery, offering guests a varied yet unified experience. The result is a destination that feels both elegant and accessible — a contemporary hospitality interior that celebrates atmosphere, detail, and the enduring appeal of thoughtful design.
