Nestled in the charming suburb of Whickham, The Nest offers five beautifully designed luxury bedrooms, each with its own en-suite facilities for ultimate comfort and privacy. Situated above The Woodmans Arms pub and right next to The Willows Wedding Venue, it provides the perfect setting for guests attending special events, weddings, or those simply seeking a relaxing countryside retreat. The Brief
The unused space above The Woodmans Arms pub presented the perfect opportunity for our client to expand their business with something truly special. By reconfiguring the property, five boutique bedrooms were created—each with its own name and character: Swan, Dove, Kestrel, Hummingbird, and Woodpecker. From bold and botanical designs to calming and cosy retreats, every room and bathroom was crafted to reflect its own personality. The result is a collection of spaces that not only offer comfort but also deliver a unique and memorable experience for every guest.
The Swan
The statement suite, Swan, is designed with romance in mind—perfect for newlyweds or those seeking a special getaway. At its heart sits a striking four-poster bed and a freestanding roll-top bath within the bedroom, creating the ideal backdrop for unforgettable moments and cherished photographs. A refined palette of soft neutrals with touches of gold lends the suite a chic, majestic feel, while traditional Morris wallpaper and flamed-edge timber boarding bring character and warmth. Rustic furniture and plush soft furnishings enhance the atmosphere, complemented by the soft glow of a feature chandelier and antique brass wall lights. The Woodpecker
The Woodpecker Suite combines Nordic charm with chic sophistication, offering guests a rustic yet luxurious retreat.
