Slug & Lettuce, Newcastle-Under-Lyme

The high street bar which has been home to the likes of Missoula, Lakota, Edwards and most recently Kiln, had become a tired and under-utilised venue within the town. It was essential to breathe new life into the site and it was thought that Slug and Lettuce would be the ideal brand to bring a sense of rejuvenation to this large 400SqM space.

The brief was to create a premium destination that would provide a great all day offer for customers. It was essential that all key features such as birdcage booths, butterfly wing selfie wall and decorative botanicals should be included. Due to the large nature and layout of the site a key focus of the design was the need to include two separate bar servery spaces, ensuring each were stand out centre pieces of the design.

Following on from other completed Slug & Lettuce projects the design at Newcastle-Under-Lyme continues the strong and bold aesthetics with high quality fixtures and finishes used throughout.

The new interior is a welcoming and vibrant space and has a multitude of seating areas to enjoy different occasions, from group parties to more intimate engagements. The inclusion of two bar servery spaces really helps balance the split-level site and provide the perfect drinks display showcase and are great stages for the staff to prepare one of the many fabulous cocktails on offer.

A rear yard area has been totally transformed into a tranquil oasis of green, with a new pergola creating a shaded seating area and botanical murals applied to the white painted brickwork adding real bursts of colour.

The new Slug & Lettuce is a real go to destination with such a stunning array of features that provides so many opportunities to get that all important selfie or group photo!
