Mixing retro with industrial style to bring Burger Shack to life for Young's

Located on Wimbledon High St, Young’s Burger Shack & Bar is the first of its kind for this successful pub group. Being a stand-alone burger shack and bar, it is a move away from their usual outdoor offering and provides a permanent indoor home for the brand.

THE BRIEF

The brief was to create a burger shack style environment within the pub using casual comfy seating and providing an informal ambiance. The new signage and bold colours makes the Burger Shack and Bar stand out from the typical bars and restaurants in the area. The relaxed design is versatile for all customers either wanting a quick drink and bite or to settle in and have a session.

THE DESIGN

Balancing a retro feel with stripped industrial elements to create the illusion that it has evolved over time. Combining a mix of reclaimed furniture, upholstered in leather and textured fabrics, raw timber and corrugated metal. Details in the artwork give off a casual fun vibe with subtle humour and bold colours. The luxury of installing new bi-fold windows onto the high street allows customers to relax in the lounge style furniture and watch the world go by encouraging them to stay awhile. Through to the rear of the pub there is a more refectory feel with an eclectic mix of furniture allowing flexible arrangements for different size groups.

A selection of booth seating nods to the typical retro diner seating you would expect to see in burger bars, providing areas for smaller groups or private spaces for couples. Long refectory tables with loose stools make great communal sharing tables enhancing the relaxed fun atmosphere near the drama of the open kitchen pass.
